Rules And Regulations Gone Mad

It is slapstick to think that this can happen as Cardiff has always played in the English league. If they did qualify for the premiership and finish ion the top 4, does that mean they would not be allowed to represent England?

It makes you wonder why they have been trying hard to qualify for the premiership all this while and why different chairmen have been trying to invest in them to attain that aim.

Another comical situation is if any of their players is controversially banned, they can only appeal to the Welsh FA and not the Football league. It is just a convoluted mess and it begs the question as to why Celtic and Rangers would want to play in the premiership when it is obvious they would not be allowed to represent England in Europe.

It is also confusing especially in England how you can acquire a yellow card or a red card in the league and then get suspended in a cup competition.

It is conceivable that Portsmouth and Cardiff can lose players in the greatest day in their recent history when they meet in the cup final because of suspensions acquired in the league.

Another ridiculous situation is the fact that you could get sent off for violent conduct in a champions league match and get a 3 game ban but because your club got knocked out of the champions league and entered UEFA cup, that player could serve out his suspension in the UEFA cup instead of missing his next opportunities in the champions league.
